Welcome
Welcome to the Niles Westside SDA Church! We are a growing congregation that has been especially attracting families and young adults from the Michiana area. There are three words that I feel can best describe what we're all about: We have a Mission, a Method, and a Motivation.
Mission
Our Mission is to help people develop a relationship with the Savior that leads to assurance and joy in the Christian life. Our desire is to see people spiritually prepared for Christ's soon return as well as to equip them to live Christ-centered, healing lives in the midst of their need to cope with the many demands and stresses of life.
Method
Through Christ-centered preaching, teaching and programming we offer diverse opportunities for people to learn and experience more of God's love for them. We worship on Saturday, the seventh-day Sabbath that Jesus and the apostles continued to keep after His death and resurrection. Christ is our Creator and then He redeemed us at the Cross. The Sabbath reminds us that only God can make something holy. We cannot change our hearts or save ourselves by our own works. We can only rest in what God has given us in the Gift of His Son. The Sabbath points us to the Source of that much needed rest.
We have an early worship service every Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and a later service that begins at 11:00 a.m. We provide Sabbath School classes for everyone from babies through adults! Sound of Rain meets Saturday afternoons. We offer a 7:00 Wednesday night Prayer Meeting where we really dig into the meat of God's Word. The church also offers Pathfinder and Adventure Clubs. From ages seven and up, these clubs provide opportunities for children to learn teambuilding, cooperation, and practical life-skills in a Christian context. They participate in community service projects, camp outs and exciting outings.
We have on-going Bible study and Fellowship groups. We provide clothing for those in need and participate with other churches and organizations in caring for those in need. We hope you can see that there are so many ways to blessed, to be cared for and to be involved!
Motivation
All of the opportunities listed above arise from hearts that realize their need of knowing Christ as Savior and Lord in their lives. We believe there is only one genuine motivation to change the human heart and that is solely the LOVE of God in Jesus Christ our Lord. We hope you visit us and come to know the same blessings that we are finding in knowing Him "Whom to know is life eternal," (John 17:3).
